ABOUT DUSTIN
Dustin Dozier serves as Teaching Pastor and Director of Next Steps at
First Baptist Simpsonville | Upstate Church, a thriving multi-site church in Simpsonville, South Carolina, where he has been on staff since 2019. As one of the primary teaching pastors at the Upstate Church Five Forks campus, Dustin brings a pastoral heart and a passion for helping people take their next step with Jesus. He also oversees the Next Steps Team across ten locations consisting of more than 400 volunteers, guiding efforts to create consistent, meaningful pathways of connection for the church’s 5,000+ weekly guests.
Over the past eight years, Dustin has played a key role in launching seven new campuses, helping the church double in attendance, celebrate more than 850 baptisms, and be recognized as the 9th fastest-growing church in America in 2023. He loves partnering with pastors and leadership teams to strengthen their systems, develop volunteers, and cultivate a culture of life-changing hospitality.

Dustin’s approach is both strategic and deeply practical. Everything he teaches has been implemented, tested, and refined in real church environments.
He works with churches of all sizes but specializes in helping growing and multi-site churches build infrastructure that matches their vision.
Dustin is also the creator of The Connected Church Co., an organization devoted to walking alongside pastors and church leaders through practical resourcing, intentional coaching, and team training. His desire is to help leaders build churches where people feel known, valued, and spiritually equipped—churches where connection leads to transformation, attendance to belonging.
Beyond his ministry roles, Dustin is a passionate communicator who enjoys preaching, teaching, and investing in leaders. His greatest joy, however, is being a husband and a dad. Dustin and his wife are the proud parents of three incredible kids, and they love spending their days cheering on their kids in sports, home projects, and building a home filled with faith, laughter, and purpose.
